Posted on 10:59 December 08th, 2015

Since last month, Scorpion foundation has  carried out weekly visit to 3 illegal bird markets in Medan, including at Jalan Imam Bonjol, Cemara Housing Complex, and at Jalan Irian. On Sunday (6 December, 2015), 1 bird sale at Cemara Asri was closed while the other markets (Jalan Irian and Jalan Imam Bonjol) continued to sell wild birds.

At Jalan Imam Bonjol on Sunday, approximately 500 birds were on sale  while at Jalan Irian approximately 1,000. Cemara Asri housing complex was also checked but bird sale was founded and still not known why the bird market here was closed.
