NGO Leaders Discuss Action Plans for Batang Toru Ecosystem (May 9, 2023)

On the 9th of May 2023, several NGO leaders held a meeting at Atsiri Café and Gallery in Medan. This meeting was attended by NGO leaders who work and have projects in the Batang Toru Ecosystem.

The purpose of this meeting was to discuss an action plan for a collaborative management of the Batang Toru Ecosystem.

During the meeting, the initiator of this event (Indonesian Conservation Foundation or Yayasan Konservasi Indonesia/YKI) introduced a draft document for the collaborative management of the Batang Toru Ecosystem followed by a discussion among the NGO leaders.

In addition to the meeting in Medan, the YKI plans to socialise the draft document further in 3 regencies of Tapanuli (North, Central, and South Tapanuli).

Scorpion Indonesia Foundation is one of Sumatran NGOs actively support the effort of the wildlife authority (BBKSDASU) to protect conservation areas in Batang Toru Ecosystem. This picture shows a joint activity of Scorpion Indonesia and BBKSDASU while patroling in Lubuk Raya Nature Reserve in Aek Sabaon village,  Marancar subdistrict of South Tapanuli regency.
