A hunter of the rare Sumatran tiger was sentenced to two years in jail and a fine of IDR100,000,000 (about US$7,400) by Medan Court in Sumatra on Thursday (4th of January 2018).

Ismail Sembiring, a residence of Batang Serangan, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra province, was arrested by the Gunung Leuser National Park (GLNP) patrol team on Sunday (27th of August 2017. (dtc)
