Medan: - The Scorpion Indonesia Foundation exposed its programme in the Batangtoru Ecosystem to NGOs in North Sumatra and a number of officials from the Provincial Wildlife Authority (BBKSDASU) of North Sumatra in a gathering on Thursday (8/5/2025). The gathering, which was chaired by BBKSDASU head, Novita Kusuma Wardani, took place in the meeting room of the BBKSDASU in Medan.
Approximately 30 representatives of various NGOs and
BBKSDASU staff members participated in the meeting and some others attended it online.
11 organizations exposed their respective programmes in the Batangtoru
Ecosystem Area. One of the presenters was Ahmad Rizki Gea, the Operational Director
of the Scorpion Indonesia Foundation, who exposed his organisation's programme in the
Batangtoru Ecosystem area.
This gathering, which was held at the invitation of the head
of BBKSDASU, aimed to synergize all activities of NGOs in Batangtoru Ecosystem so that the results could be
maximized.
The Batangtoru Ecosystem is a landscape rich in biodiversity. More than 25 protected animal species share the same habitat in this ecosystem. Some species are also included in the IUCN Red List of Endangered Species, including Tapanuli orangutan, Sumatran tiger, Pangolin, White-handed gibbon, etc.
