SCORPION, ISCP, and SPORC Rescue 2 Slow Lorises in Balige, Sumatra (March 24, 2016)

The Scorpion Foundation, Indonesian Species Conservation Program (ISCP), and the Forest Police Rapid Response Unit (Polisi Hutan Reaksi Cepat/SPORC) rescued 2 slow lorises from Desa Pantai, Jalan Raja Sibagot, Balige, Tobasa district of North Sumatra Province, on Thursday night (24th of March 2016).

The owner put the two slow lorises in from of his house for sale at the price IDR 300,000 (GBP15) per individual.

The two slow lorises (Mother and infant) were found in poor health conditions because they were fed with human food and drink, such as fried banana and tea. Both lorises arrived alive at the

 ISCP Rescue Centre in Bandar Baru, about 40 minutes drive from Medan.
