Orangutan Skull On Sale in Borneo, Scorpion Foundation Insists MoEF to Carry Out Investigation (March 29)

Scorpion Foundation found orangutan skull and several other protected animal’s parts on sale in a shop in Singkawang, West Kalimantan province of Indonesia in Borneo. This finding has been reported to the Director General of Law Enforcement at the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF) on 29th March 2016. Following the written report by email, Director of Scorpion Foundation also communicated the case to the Director of Enforcement, Mr. Muhammad Yunus via sms.

In the report to the Director General of Law Enforcement, Mr. Rasio Ridho Sani, Scorpion Foundation also attached a map and coordinates of the location of the shop.

So far no information yet what the MoEF has done about the case.

Scorpion Investigator visited the shop on 21 March 2016 and took pictures of the orangutan skulls, parts of bodies of some other protected animals such as sun bear, pangolin, hornbill, etc.
