elephant, rhinoceros, orangutan, would remain a concern of the GNLP. In addition,
the status of the GLNP as one of the parks included in the Endangered List,

Participants of the
meeting consist of representatives from World Conservation Society (WCS),
VESSWIC, Leuser Conservation Forum (FKL) and Yayasan Eksistem Lestari (YEL),

NGO's have expressed their
own works and plans ahead in the meeting. Yasra Alfariza of the Conservation Department at the
Scorpion Foundation explained that Scorpion would support restoration
activities in Gunung Leuser National Park through planting of various
sub-species of pig trees. Fruits of these trees are favorite food of
orangutans.
Yasra added, for the early stage, Scorpion has produced 1,000 seedlings of pig trees which are now ready to plant. The selection of pig trees aims at supporting conservation of orangutans in Gunung Leuser National Park.
