Elephant in Surabaya Zoo Finally Unchained. Thanks to 4,000 Signatories of Scorpion’s Petition (January 9, 2017)

Dou you still remember about an elephant with both legs chained causing him unable to reach food and water in Surabaya Zoo? The elephant (the elephant named Gonzales) lives in an enclosure with concret floor filled with feces and urine. He also showed symptoms of zoochosis and stress. Video of the elephant which we uploaded on Scorpion Facebook has reached attentions of many viewers around the world.

 

Thank you for all your help in signing the petition, the elephant has been freed from the chains . Scorpion investigator checked this on Sunday (8/1/2017) and the elephant chained no more. Gonzales has gained a better life than before.

 

The petition, which we mobilize to remove the elephant chains, has gained more than 4,000 signature. Congratulations to the elephant!!! Thank you very much to Scorpion Facebook visitors.
